Walk on the hills of a 150-hectare nature reserve with great views of Johannesburg and its suburbs near the Confident Mine where the Struben Brothers discovered gold in 1884
Although you cannot expect to see large wildlife, the reserve is home to mountain reedbuck, dassies and mongoose. The reserve has several short color-coded circular trails. When combined, they create an interesting nature trail.
This lovely circular trail combines several trails and unmarked paths in the reserve. Unlike the other trails, it starts as the short Wetland Trail (blue trail markers) near the parking lot. You do not walk past the amphitheater to the gate where the green, yellow and red trails start.
