Walk on the hills of a 150-hectare nature reserve with great views of Johannesburg and its suburbs near the Confident Mine where the Struben Brothers discovered gold in 1884
Although you cannot expect to see large wildlife, the reserve is home to mountain reedbuck, dassies and mongoose. The reserve has several short color-coded circular trails.
The Dassie Trail, with its rocky outcrops, provides a perfect habitat for the dassies. It is a nice circular trail that starts from the amphitheater. Although relatively flat in the beginning, you hike approximately 100 meters to reach the top of the koppies (hills). There are nice viewpoints from the trail and benches to relax.
