47-2 Bird Hide Walk Extended

Walk near flamingos and over 250 other species of birds in one of South Africa’s most important bird sanctuaries

The bird sanctuary, as part of the Blesbokspruit, is one of the 112 protected Important Birding Areas (IBAs) in South Africa (IBA SA021). The protected area, with over 10,000 birds (even up to 20,000), is a popular birding destination in a large floodplain.

If you are really into making kilometers to meet your sport watch’s goal of the day, you could park your car at the newly built conference center at the entrance and walk on 16 kilometers of access roads to visit all bird hides.
