Watch birds and game through a fence on a short walk in open grassland in the Cradle of Humankind 

Maropeng is the educational center of the Cradle of Humankind with its exhibition center and hotel. The Sterkfontein Caves are located 13 kilometers from the museum.

This pleasant short walk offers more than you would expect from a short open grassland walk. The well-maintained trail leads to a bird hide and several information points about the flora and fauna in the region. As the trail is nearby a conservation area, you may see interesting wildlife through the game fence on your right.
