Hike with zebras, giraffes, ostriches and other wildlife on well-marked and maintained paths in a hilly landscape, overlooking Pretoria’s surroundings
The reserve was established as the African continent’s first wildlife sanctuary.
The reserve is home to a variety of “woody” vegetation and grasses on ridges varying in steepness. The reserve’s three established trails are well-marked with white, red or yellow signs, with painted shoe prints showing the direction that you follow.
A favorite among local hikers, this trail leads to the large plains behind the hills with flocks of ostriches and herds of giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and hartebeest.
