38-2 Mountain Trail

Hike among wildlife in Hartbeeshoek (near Hartbeespoort) on a private farm in the Cradle of Humankind among giraffes, wildebeests, nyalas, zebras and other wildlife

Located not far from the Sterkfontein Caves and Maropeng, the 650-hectare farm is a wonderful hiking destination on the Northern boundary of the Cradle of Humankind nature area. You can experience the bush “in its true glory” on the numerous hiking paths.

The Mountain Trail follows the Bush Trail to the mountain and adds a steep climb to the top of the mountain halfway along the trail. The climb is hard work, but offers great views of the Hartbeespoort Dam and its surroundings.
