Google Earth™ Maps
You can explore the hiking trails using the Google Earth™ KML files. These files are useful for virtually exploring an area before heading out. The Google Earth™ KML files are available on the website for downloading to registered owners of the guidebook.
GPS Trails
Each trail is designed with the independent traveler in mind. Even without a GPS device or smartphone, you can enjoy many of the trails in this guidebook using the maps provided. We nevertheless recommend that you bring a GPS device or smartphone and have it loaded with the GPS trails. They are available on the website to registered owners of the guidebook in GPS eXchange Format - GPX, Google Earth™, and Garmin™ formats optimized for smartphones and GPS devices.
Access to Resources
To access the GPS trails and other resources available to owners of this book, you need to register on our website. During the registration process, you will be asked for a registration key. Please enter the key on page 31.
Please note: The GPS files on the Hiking in South Africa website are provided exclusively to registered owners of the guidebook.
